The Ask

Introduce a new social media strategy to help maintain Sony's leadership position among the "hardcore" gaming demographic. Re-center our social channels to maximize effectiveness.

The Problem

In addition to chip shortages that have led to a decrease in PlayStation 5 availability, Microsoft' acquisition of game publisher ZeniMax Media will lead to increased competition due to exclusive IPs.

The Insight

People trust those they know longer. The same applies to brands; the more history, the more trust it gains from the public.

The Solution

A campaign that showcases the various game characters/IPs Sony has in their stable whic makes them a reliable brand. Treat the long-standing world of Playstation as a physical neighbourhood, populated by game characters and gamers.

The Tactics

  1. Reorganize social channels with new mission statements, create new platform strategy with a renewed focus on Tik Tok, Twitter, and Instagram.

  2. Produce game character takeovers of social accounts to inject some energy and re-establish
    the lengthy stable of characters part of the PlayStation brand.

  3. Release new content over social that creates new engagements.

  2. Get cursed at by Kratos on twitter, or see Scorpion’s Malibu vacation
    Villa on insta.



  3. A Parappa the Rapper dance craze on Tik-Tok???

The Expectation

By further showcasing the extensive Playstation catalog through a game character showcase, we'll cement  PlayStation as the premiere destination for interactive entertainment. An increase in reach and engagements, CTR and activations/purchases will help increase sales of PlayStation products in Q4 2022.
